What is SAP S/4HANA?

SAP's fourth-generation enterprise resource planning (ERP) system

S/4HANA is the latest ERP software from SAP, meaning it manages core business functions like finance, manufacturing, supply chain, and human resources. S/4Hana replaces the predecessor solution "SAP ECC" and applies a simplified data model for faster processing. Unlike the previous ECC, companies can choose between on-premise or cloud deployment options, with cloud versions offered as either a "Public" or "Private" edition: Public Edition: A preconfigured ready to go SaaS solution. Private Edition: A tailored solution to meet specific business needs and industry requirements. One of the key modernisations of the S/4Hana solutions is the provision of modern Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) for integrating S/4Hana with other software.

SAP S4Hana Migration

Many companies face the challenge of migrating from their current version of SAP (typically SAP ECC, the predecessor to SAP S/4Hana) to the new S/4Hana. Due to the central nature of ERP systems to company's operations, such migrations are complex and require careful planning and execution with specialist partners. Unfortunately, one area which is often neglected is preparation and migration of the data itself, as most company's are focused on the implementation of the software assuming that the data is a) complete and correct, and, b) simple to migrate. Ensuring a complete and successful migration of data into SAP S/4Hana as required for maintenance, repair and operations is something that Sharecat Data Services specialises in.
