Star Information Systems (STAR) has acquired Sharecat, a leading provider of solutions and services for documents and data in complex and heavy industries.

STAR has grown rapidly in recent years, delivering advanced systems for maintenance, operations, procurement, logistics, and master data management, mainly for the maritime and offshore sector. The company has built a strong global position over the past four years and is on track to become a leading international player.

Information quality is crucial for organizations that operate complex assets and perform advanced operations and maintenance. The acquisition enables STAR to combine its cost-efficient systems for maintenance, procurement, and logistics with Sharecat’s expertise and solutions to help customers achieve higher data quality and information control at lower cost.

Bernt Lilliestråle, CEO of STAR, comments:

"Sharecat is an ideal complement to STAR’s software and services, not only for maritime and energy customers, but also for the broader industrial market. By joining forces, we strengthen our ability to deliver where data quality and control is critical to ensure compliance and that right maintenance is performed at the right time."

Tom Haylock & Eivind Norebø, Sharecat:

"We look forward to continuing our development as part of STAR and to further build on our long-standing relationships with our clients. Serving some of the most demanding global players in one of their key operational areas is an exciting opportunity as we join STAR on its growth journey."

Star Information Systems AS is majority-owned by the active ownership fund Longship.
