SAP ECC is an enterprise resource planning (ERP) software provided by the company SAP: It's a key part of the SAP Business Suite and is designed to integrate and manage core business processes across an organization. SAP ECC includes modules for functions like finance, human resources, supply chain management, maintenance and more. Many industrial companies, including multiple Sharecat Data Services customers, use or have used SAP ECC as part of their suite of operations systems.
The official date set by SAP for the end of support and maintenance for ECC isr December 31, 2027. This means SAP will no longer provide standard support, including updates and security patches, after 2027. Extended maintenance is available until December 31, 2030, but with an additional cost.
For companies choosing to continue with the SAP suite, the successor to ECC is the new S/4HANA. The principle change is the move to a cloud based solution for S/4HANA, compared to ECC which is an on-premise solution.
